About Malcolm "Mac" Baldrige
Few can claim to have had a greater impact on American industry than Malcolm "Mac" Baldrige. Mac lived in Woodbury, and guided Waterbury's Scovill Manufacturing Company, Inc. for over two decades. He was appointed President Reagan's Secretary of Commerce during which time he implemented new laws to help American businesses grow. Malcolm Baldrige believed in community, he believed in leadership, and he believed in volunteerism. The Malcolm Baldrige Awards honor those who continue Mac's work.
