On Thursday, a referendum on the subject produced a result many see as a surprise: Great Britain voted to exit the EU (hence the mashup title, Brexit). The vote does not mean Britain and other members of the United Kingdom (Ireland, Scotland, etc.) are out as of today. It's a lengthy process that requires negotiating new trade agreements, among other things. And it will, at least in the short term, have a major impact on the world's economy.
