Committees

Members of the Greater Waterbury Chamber have the opportunity to assist in determine the goals and objectives of the Chamber by participating on one or more committees that support members' business and professional goals.  By participating on a committee, Chamber members can take an active leadership role in the organization and the business community.  Chamber members may participate on committees that support initiatives in economic development, government affairs, business growth or any one of a number of special committees.  Most meetings are held at the Chamber office Building at convenient and regularly scheduled times.

 Ambassadors Committee
Staff Liaison: Diane Ploch
Meetings: Last Tuesday at 8 a.m

Mission: To contact and service existing members to aid in customer service and retention.


Economic Development Committee
Staff Liaison: James Gatling
Meetings: Second Wednesday at noon.

Mission: To develop a business climate conducive to market growth and expansion by supporting, coordinating, and implementing the economic development activity of the Greater Waterbury Region.


Executive Dialogue Committee
Staff Liaison: Dom Giglio
Meetings: Every third Wednesday. Call for schedule.

Mission: To exchange referrals, leads and opportunities to create new business relationships.


Health Care Council
Staff Liaison: Lorrie Peterson
Meetings: Program time, date and locations vary by month, call for more information.

Mission: Provide Health care resources and information to employers, employees, individuals and health care professionals.  To provide networking opportunities for members and prospective members.  To educate professionals within the health care industry.  To be a resource for companies and individuals. And, to identify issues and establish a health care legislative agenda.

Meetings: Leads Group I: Every third Wednesday at 8 a.m.; Leads Group II: Every other Tuesday at 11:45 a.m.; Leads Group III: Every other Thursday at 8 a.m.

Mission: To exchange referrals, leads and opportunities to create new business relationships. 


Manufacturers' Council
Staff Liaison: Jeff Rouleau
Meetings: Call for schedule and location. 

Mission: To address the issues facing the manufacturing industry, particularly workforce development. 


Public Policy
Staff Liaison: Gary O'Connor
Meetings: First Friday at 8 a.m.

Mission: To serve as the leading advocate for businesses in the Greater Waterbury Region. 


Small Business Council
Staff Liaison: Ron Gallant
Meetings: Last Wednesday at 8:00 a.m.

Mission: Provide special programming for businesses with fewer than 25 employees.


Toastmasters

Staff Liaison: Trish Donohue
Meetings: First and third Friday at 7:45 a.m.

Mission: To provide a professionally prepared program that will improve each participant's abilities to speak, listen, and lead, in an environment fostering self-improvement.


Wolcott Street/Lakewood Road Business Association

Staff Liaison: Rob Kane
Meetings: Quarterly. Call for schedule and location. 

Mission: To develop the Wolcott Street/Lakewood Road business district via image building, beautification, collaborative marketing, and business recruitment.


Woodland Hills Business Council

Staff Liaison: Philippa Pryor
Meetings: Call for schedule

Mission: To provide our members with an opportunity to develop business through networking with neighbors and to be a "voice within a voice" at the WRC.
